Advanced
Open Water Diver
The Course
The P.A.D.I.
Advanced Open Water Diver Course / Advances Plus Course is
designed to enhance the experience, skills and knowledge of
the diver for practical application in the diving
environment. During this course, you will be introduced to
special interest areas which may be further developed into
specialty ratings. Three more of the Advanced Plus dives
along with Medic - First Aid course will qualify you as an
Advanced Plus Diver. The Advanced course is generally
conducted over one weekend, with the Advanced Plus Dives,
Medic - First Aid following shortly afterwards.
Instructional
Certification
This is
issued from the Professional Association of Diving
Instructors (PADI) in Sydney, and is recognised in over 90
countries.
Course Fees
Fees include
all tuition, use of books, pool entry, dives and SCUBA
equipment. You should have your own mask, snorkel, fins and
preferably a wetsuit prior to the Open Water Diving Course.
If you have all your own SCUBA equipment, there is a
substantial reduction in the course cost.

Pre
Requisites
In order to
enrol, you must;
- Must be
certified as an Open Water Diver or equivalent.
- Be 15
years of age or over. (although persons as young as
12 years of age can participate).
- Be
medically and physically fit.
Course
Content
During the
Advanced Open Water Course, you will complete five open water
training dives, supported by theory sessions. Dives to choose
from include, Night Dive, Deep Dive, Search & Salvage,
Under Water Navigation, Under Water Photography, Drift Dive,
Boat Dive, Under Water Naturalist, Altitude Dive and Dry Suit
Dive.
Advanced Plus Qualification being a total of 8 of these dives
plus Medic First Aid.
Equipment
Used
During the
training dives, you are to be equipped with:
Mask, Snorkel, Fins, Buoyancy Control Device with Low
Pressure Inflator, Regulator, Alternate Air Source,
Submersible Pressure Gauge, Depth Gauge, Weight Belt, Tank,
Adequate Wetsuit, Boots, Timing Device, Compass, Knife,
Whistle and preferably have an Underwater Torch for the night
dive.
Class Size
The class
size is restricted in number to ensure that each student
receives the best individual tuition and supervision. To
ensure your place in this class, your deposit would be
forwarded as soon as possible.
Enrolments
Simply
complete the application form and/or contact the shop and let
them know that you wish to attend the next SCUBA course. The
deposit is only refundable where a medical certificate for
sickness is obtained.
Instructors
Our
Instructors, are qualified to teach Open Water, Advanced
Open Water, Rescue, Divemaster, Assistant Instructor,
First Aid and a wide variety of Dive Specialties. eg.
night, Deep, Wreck, Search and Recovery, Navigation,
Equipment, Nitrox (mixed gas) Diving & Under Water
Photography.
